A perfect balance of cycling and cultural discovery in the Hoi An countryside

A complete day of discovery: river boat transfer, quiet island roads, craft villages, wooden floating bridges and a home-cooked lunch, a rich snapshot of real countryside life around Hoi An.

Real Vietnam full-day cycling tour — Hoi An countryside

This full-day tour offers the ideal mix of active cycling and meaningful encounters. The morning is focused on riding through peaceful rural landscapes with rice fields, small paths and quiet villages. The afternoon is more culture-oriented, with multiple visits offering a deeper look into daily life in the countryside.

Begin with an approximately 1-hour boat transfer on the Thu Bon River delta to reach a quiet island village, the perfect starting point for your ride.

In the morning, cycle about 16 km through authentic countryside, passing local farms and meeting friendly villagers. Cross from island to island and meet welcoming locals along the way.

A short boat hop takes you to a nearby island for a home-cooked lunch with a local family.

The Afternoon Experience: Floating Bridge, Crafts, Culture & Sunset

In the afternoon (9 Km ride), follow a route inspired by our Countryside Morning Tour. Visit the family’s traditional wooden house where you enjoyed lunch, then explore local workshops where artisans weave colourful sleeping mats and build wooden boats. Cross the last remaining floating wooden bridge in the region, a rare and memorable experience.

Other visits are included, with possible spontaneous stops depending on what's happening in the countryside that day. Our tours are flexible by nature, adapting to local life and seasonal activity, which means no two experiences are ever exactly the same.

The day ends with a short crossing on a local ferry, often timed with the sunset over the Thu Bon River, a peaceful and unforgettable way to end your journey back to Hoi An.

Both offer the same authentic experience: river boat transfer, home-cooked lunch, artisan visits, and village immersion — just different routes adapted to the season.

From April to July, it can be hot and humid. We provide plenty of drinking water and schedule frequent shade breaks. Please wear a hat/cap and sunscreen. Bring sunscreen, a hat or cap, sunglasses, comfortable clothes, and closed-toe shoes. A camera is highly recommended for the floating bridge and countryside scenery. From October to January, a light windbreaker is recommended for the boat rides. We provide water, helmets, quality bicycles, and all safety equipment.
What happens if it rains?
All our tours run even in the rain — it's part of the adventure! Your safety comes first: if conditions are unsafe (flooding, storms), we cancel (with a full refund) or postpone. During the rainy season (October-February), we recommend our Magic Vietnam tour, which follows a flood-free route.
